Easy DIY customisation

Where off-the-shelf e-Learning course vendors claim content to be 'customisable', they generally mean either; 'we will customise the material for you at a charge' or 'we will provide a template-driven utility that enables you to make cosmetic changes such as add a page or add your company branding etc'

This is analogous to purchasing a pre-cooked birthday cake from the baker, with the ability to have the icing, the candles, the greeting etc. added to your specification by the baker, or being able to do it yourself... in both cases - the cake's recipe remains the same!

When you licence our courses, you also licence our easy-to-use authoring system, Acce-Lerator. This system, selected by the DfES, is currently helping more than 100 FE colleges to develop e-learning content. All our courses are developed using Acce-Lerator and, using this tool, you can modify, adapt, customise or expand them, right down to individual words or graphics on a page.

To use the cake analogy, you can take the ingredients apart, alter the mix, or remove some and add others. In short, you can re-make the cake! You can effectively turn a fruitcake into a sponge! That's true customisation...!
