The Responsible Employee and The Responsible Manager programmes have been designed to be applicable to a wide spectrum of employers. However, since everyone’s job is different, not all courses will have equal relevance to all employees.

Subject relevance

Most subjects in The Responsible Employee programme will be relevant to almost all employees. Of course some employees do not currently use the Internet or email, likewise do not need to be concerned about Data Protection issues, and so may be exempted from those courses should you wish. Each employee need only do those courses in the programme that you determine they should do.

Generally, all subject areas in The Responsible Manager programme will be relevant to virtually all managers, whatever their operational responsibility, however, again, this is at your discretion.

Content relevance

If the subject itself is relevant, then the essential learning points in each course will be of generic relevance to virtually all employees. However, to make the learning as engaging and interesting as possible, we use typical scenarios to illustrate learning points. Of course, in our standard subscription programme content (www.trainforwork.net) not all the scenarios used can possibly match all business sectors. The general principle in each case, however, is made clear. It’s worth noting that scenario-based learning itself encourages ‘induction’; the dictionary defines Induction as ‘reasoning from particular cases to general conclusions.’ (Chambers)

The uniqueness of the FIT approach, however, is that, if you see advantage in doing so, you can yourself tailor each course by changing the scenarios to match your exact environment. Your trainers can do this easily and quickly by using our authoring system, Acce-Lerator, with which the entire programme has been developed. Full details of this are available on request.
